Accra Bourse Index in modest gain

Accra, March 4, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index, the main gauge of the Accra bourse, continued its steady rise in trading on Tuesday with a modest gain of 2.99 points.

The index went up to close 7,016.53 points from the previous close of 7,013.54 points on Monday.

Change year to date now stands at 6.31 per cent. Traded volumes rallied to close at 7.8 million shares buoyed by a block sale in the shares of HFC Bank, which alone sold 7.4 million shares.

There were six price changes - five positive and a negative. Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Limited gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.15, Enterprise Insurance Company was up GH¢0.01 at GH¢1.71, Fan Milk Limited went up GH¢0.04 to close at GH¢2.75, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited was up GH¢0.01 at GH¢1.37 and SG-SSB with GH¢0.01 at GH¢1.37. The only loser was Ghana Oil Company, which shed GH¢0.02 to close at GH¢0.28.

Market capitalisation was stronger at GH¢13,434.02 compared to GH¢13,431.95 million at the previous session on Monday.
