Accra, Jan. 31, GNA - The Accra bourse fell on Monday under a substantial loss by British American Tobacco (BAT) in moderate trading. The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, went down by 11.92 points to 6,889.44 points.
Change for the year was down at 1.34 per cent from Friday's close of 1.51 per cent.
BAT lost a whopping 500 cedis to close at 6,000 cedis on a day that traded shares went up to 304,700 from Friday's 288,500 shares. However, two other price changes were positive.
Ghana Commercial Bank rose by 10 cedis at 12,210 cedis while Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) went up by 11 cedis to close at 6,667 cedis. Market capitalisation closed lower at 97,862.81 billion cedis from 3,663.42 million issued shares.
