Accra bourse in huge gain on ETI rise

Accra, March 28, GNA - The GSE All Share Index, the benchmark measure of the Accra bourse, leaped by a whopping 221.48 points on the back of Ecobank Transnational to close at 7,837.13 points from 7,615.65 points at the previous close on Thursday.

Change for the year to date now stands at 18.75 per cent. Traded volumes were also higher at 2,003,000 shares from 499,500 shares on Thursday from with Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), which held its AGM on Friday, selling 1,004,600 shares.

On the broader market there were four price changes, all positive. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, the second most highly capitalised stock, gained 0.10 GH cedis at 1.60 GH cedis, GCB was 0.01 GH cedis better at 1.31 GH cedis, Total was up by 0.01 GH cedis at 5.57 GH cedis while Unilever also gained 0.01 GH cedis at 2.23 GH cedis. Market capitalisation closed the session up at 13,947.63 million GH cedis from 13,809.51 million GH cedis on Thursday.
