Accra bourse index continues upswing

Accra, April 15, GNA - The Accra bourse continued its impressive run on Tuesday with the benchmark index, the GSE All-Share Index, gaining 26.28 points. The index rallied to close at 8,675.34 points from 8,649.06 points on Monday.

Change for the year to date now stands at 31.45 per cent. Traded volumes closed the session at 1,949,800 shares, more than four times higher than Monday's level of 460,000 shares, mostly on the back of a block trade in Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Limited shares. Ayrton alone sold 1,327,700 shares.

On the broader market there were four positive price changes. CAL gained GH¢ 0.03 to close trading at GH¢ 0.56, Ecobank Ghana Limited was up GH¢ 0.02 at GH¢ 2.73, Fan Milk Ghana Limited went up GH¢ 0.01 to close at GH¢ 2.90 and Guinness Ghana Limited was richer by GH¢ 0.05 at GH¢ 1.60. Market capitalisation closed the trading session up at GH¢ 14,477.55 compared to GH¢ 14,461.18 million on Monday.
