Accra bourse index continues upswing

Accra, May 21, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the benchmark measure of the Accra bourse, gained 8.49 points to close at 9,616.29 from 9,607.80 points on Wednesday. Change for the year to date now stands at 45.71 per cent. Traded volumes fell to close at 297,300 shares from 530,800 shares.

On the broader market there were four price changes, all positive. Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) gained GH¢ 0.04 to close at GH¢ 1.05, Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) was up GH¢ 0.02 at GH¢ 3.21, Enterprise Insurance Company went up GH¢ 0.01 at GH¢ 2.02 and Unilever went up by GH¢ 0.01 to close GH¢ 2.40. Market capitalisation ended the session up at GH¢ 15,066.59 million from 15,061.09 million at the previous close on Tuesday.
