Accra, Nov. 29, GNA - A huge loss by Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), the second most highly priced equity on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), saw a slump of the bourse in trading on Tuesday. The GSE All-Share Index lost 24.1 points at 4,851.38 points from Monday's close of 4,875.48 points.
Shares that changed hands ended higher at 229,600 from 54,100 on Monday.
There were only two price changes, one up and one down. SCB lost a whopping 4,000 cedis at 130,000 cedis while Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained 40 cedis at 7,700 cedis.
Change for the year plunged further at -28.64 per cent while market capitalisation slumped at 92,075.17 points from 92,138.97 billion cedis from 3,393.18 million issued shares.
