Accra to host agric investment summit

Accra will, from November 17 –18, 2015, play host to the Agrique Africa Investment Summit, which will bring together over 300 of Africa’s leading Agricultural sector players and a host of seasoned speakers, to dialogue on the urgent need for investment in the sector.

The event, to be held at the World Trade Centre, will be attended by agricultural products and services providers, development agencies, farmer associations, financial service providers as well as investors, among others.

The distinguished list of speakers includes Sebastian McKinlay, Head of AECF Connect Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund; Evelyn Nguleka, President World Farmers Organisation;Daniel Asare, Country CEO/Manager of Esoko; and Fiifii Kwetey, Minister of Food and Agriculture, among others.

Key agricultural investment opportunities in Africa will be at the centre of the discussions.

“We have created a series of segments that will allow for the presentation of investment opportunities from agribusinesses across Africa in need of finance,” Bamidele Seun Owoola, CEO of UK based Welcome2Africa, which is organizing the event said.

The event also includes an exhibition which is meant to provide exhibitors an opportunity to network and possibly strike business deals with their counterparts from other parts of Africa and across the globe.
