Meanwhile the Acting Director General of GPHA, Michael Luguje also engaged with the Tema Regional Police Commander for the first time after his appointment.
The engagement was in recognition of the important task the police play in maintaining order and security to the port community.
''I thank you and your team for all the support you have been giving to the Port Authority. The security you have been providing for the Port community,'' he expressed.
He said the Port Authority is interested in evaluating how it can enhance the capacity of the Police to help them fight crime more effectively.
''It is just to assure that the Port Authority will support. We will want to even look into the rules of engagement of the police so that we will see if there is any way we could even enhance it together based on the challenges we are having in the waters today,'' he revealed.
The Regional Commander of the Tema Regional Police Command, Nana Asomah, expressed the continued collaboration of his office with the Port Authority to keep the Port environment as a safe place to do business.
“If the Port is not safe, we are in trouble so we are doing our best to make sure that we have a very safe Port,'' the Regional Commander for Police said.
