Aflao CEPS exceeded revenue target

Aflao (V/R), Nov. 17, GNA - The Aflao sector of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) has exceeded its revenue target for this year and has collected 298.8 billion cedis as of October, as against the entire year's projection of 286.85 billion cedis.

Miss Yaa Kesiwaa Amponsah, an Assistant Commissioner of CEPS in charge of the Aflao sector announced this on Thursday at a ceremony marking the end of her duty tour.

Miss Amponsah, who handed over the command of the sector to Mr Emmanuel Impraim, a Chief Collector, is being posted to CEPS Headquarters in Accra as head of Administration and Human Resource. She commended Customs officers manning the sector, comprising Havi, Akanu, Kpoglo and Dabala Junction, for working tirelessly, resulting in the sector being adjudged last year as the best in the country. "Indeed, I shall never forget this as the icing on your farewell cake for me", she said.

Miss Amponsah enjoined the officers to extend the same cooperation to her successor, who was the second in command of CEPS at the Kotoka International Airport.

Receiving his baton of authority, Mr Impraim, said his predecessor's achievements were a challenge to him and urged personnel to ensure the right working ethics towards higher revenue attainments. Present at the ceremony were Officers of the Togolese Police, Customs and Immigration, led by Chef, P. Kpegba, who called for the sustenance of the good working relationship between them and their Ghanaian counterparts.

Miss Amponsah was the first female Assistant Commissioner of CEPS to have headed the Aflao sector.
