Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Feb. 26, GNA - The Agricultural Development Bank in Dormaa District is being hooked to a computer system that would make it possible for customers to access services in any part of the country without any inter-bank consultations.

Mr. Charles Teiku, branch manager, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Dormaa-Ahenkro that the connection would improve staff performance and enhance security, especially for traders in transit who carried large sums of money.

"Under the programme special account numbers as well as automated teller machine cards would be issued to customers to enable them to access all forms of service at all times, including weekends", he said. Mr. Teiku said the programme was part of the bank's nationwide move to connect its 50 branches by June to enhance service and eradicate fraud.

Madam Joana Hesse, an Information and Communication Technology specialist at the bank's headquarters, who led a team to install gadgets for the smooth take-off of the programme, said the installation would be completed by March 15.

She said the installation was running concurrently with intensive computer software training for the bank's staff to prepare them adequately for the new programme. 26 Feb 08
