Airtel Business, the enterprise solutions sub-brand of Airtel Ghana is headline sponsor for the 67th Annual Year School scheduled for 10th – 14th January 2016.
This was announced at the official launch of the event at the University of Ghana, Legon and is the third consecutive year the Telecom brand of the year is sponsoring the event.
Launched under the theme, Promoting Universal Health for Sustainable Development in Ghana: Is Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) the Game Changer, the New Year school will bring together a cross-section of Ghanaians, policy makers and business leaders to discuss pertinent issues of national and international interest.

He indicated that Airtel Business has entered into a 5 year strategic partnership with the University of Ghana as lead sponsor of the New Year School.

In his comments, Professor Oheneba-Sakyi, Dean of the School of Continuing and Distance Education, College of Education, University of Ghana, said “stakeholders in health sector must fully utilize ICT to bridge the gap between health providers and patients to make healthcare delivery truly universal and accessible. I want to commend Airtel Ghana for partnering with the College as lead sponsor for the New Year school over a 5 year period”.
Professor Audrey Gadzekpo, Dean of the School of Information and Communications Studies, who chaired the launch, lauded Airtel Ghana for supporting the New Year school and for providing solutions to improve healthcare delivery in the country.
The Annual New Year School, since its inception in 1949, has been the platform and a place where many Ghanaians of all walks of life have congregated and deliberated on issues of national importance.
As the lead sponsors of the Annual New Year School, Airtel Business will also be providing participants at the conference with free Wi-Fi.
