Airtel Ghana nominated for three prestigious continental awards

Airtel – The Smartphone Network and Ghana’s best Data and Internet Service Provider has been shortlisted in three coveted categories for the Africa Carrier 2016 Awards taking place on Tuesday 27th September at the exclusive five star Speke Resort and Conference Centre in the Ugandan capital city of Kampala.

The inaugural Africa Carrier Awards seeks to recognise telecom companies in Africa with outstanding performance in terms of growth, innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility amongst others.

Airtel Ghana has been shortlisted for Best West African Wholesale Carrier – a recognition bestowed on the best telecom services provider in West Africa, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative – Recognising the most socially responsible and committed telecom company in Africa and the coveted Best Africa Service Innovation – a category to celebrate the most innovative telecom service provider on the continent.

The Awards is part of the Capacity Africa conference taking place from 27th – 28th September and bringing together senior leaders from the telecom industry in Africa to deliberate on the possibilities within the industry for the future.

Now in its 10th year, the Capacity Africa conference is introducing the Africa Carrier Awards to celebrate excellence in the telecom industry across the continent.

Details on the awards are available via www.capacityconferences.com/Capacity-Africa-Award.html Airtel Ghana has won several awards this year including being adjudged the Best Data and Internet Service Provider, Best Marketing Campaign and Best Use of Social Media at the Ghana ICT and Telecom Awards where it’s CEO, Lucy Quist was also adjudged the Telecom CEO of the Year.

The ChangeMaker company has also won several CSR awards for its impactful programmes focusing on education, health, sports, empowerment and community development.
