Akufo-Addo supports three thousand youth in business scale up

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has supported three thousand (3,000) Ghanaian youth with 30 million Ghana Cedis funding package to scale up their businesses.

Under the ‘Window two’ (2) of the Presidential Business Support program, these youth will also receive continuous training in capacity building, free accounting services, mentorship and advisory service among others.

President Akufo-Addo who presented the cash benefits ranging from ten thousand to one hundred thousand cedis, tasked them to create more jobs to ease the unemployment situation in the country.

The Presidential Business Support Program is an initiative by government aimed at assisting Ghanaian businesses with Business Advisory Services and funding to scale up and to create jobs.

The initiative is in fulfilment of President Akufo Addo’s commitment to support entrepreneurs, small and medium size businesses which constitute over 80 % of all businesses in the country to become competitive and contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development.

The country’s private sector is at the heart of Government’s transformative agenda and President Akufo Addo is committed to building the capacity of Ghanaian entrepreneurs to play a leading role in transforming the economy through the Presidential Business Support Initiative.

Three thousand, (3,000), businesses and startups are to benefit from the second edition of the program and receive cash benefits between ten thousand Ghana cedis and one hundred Ghana cedis.

With Sixty percent (60%) of the youth in Ghana below 30 years, President Akufo-Addo promised to build the capacity of young people to be competitive globally.

The Minister of Business Development, Mohammed Awal, said his outfit will continue to initiate policies that will empower the youth.

Under the window of the support programme, it is estimated that 20 thousand direct and indirect jobs were created.
