The 2017 Ghana Energy Awards Committee says all is set to honour energy sector players for their immense contributions to the field on November 30 at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

The Awards Scheme is an industry owned initiative being executed in partnership with various government regulating agencies in the sector.

It was initiated by Energy Media Group and is on the theme: "Energy for National Development: 60years and beyond."

Several individuals and corporate organisations have been shortlisted for the maiden national awards instituted to recognize innovations, achievements and excellence in the oil and gas sector of Ghana’s economy.

The Awarding Panel Chaired by renowned Energy Expert Dr Kwame Ampofo told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday that everything was set to announce grand winners on Thursday for the 20 categories listed.

The first ever national award in Ghana’s growing energy sector is backed by the World Energy Council, Ministry of Energy and its agencies.

It was launched early this year and aimed to reward industry players for their achievements, success, efforts, innovation and excellence towards the growth of the country’s energy sector.

It is also to celebrate the tremendous work of industry players competing in various categories.

The shortlisted nominees have been informed about their chance of winning the awards in the various categories but the committee said final recipients would be declared at the gala ceremony.
