Ambassador Nancy Q. Sam, the Tourism Ambassador for Miami, Florida, in the United States of America (USA), led a high-level delegation from Miami to Ghana to explore investment opportunities in the country’s thriving tourism and agribusiness sectors.

The visit, which culminated in a Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Accra, is part of a broader effort to strengthen trade and investment ties between Ghana and the United States.

The delegation—comprising business leaders, policymakers, and investors from Miami—aims to foster partnerships in key sectors including agro-processing, real estate, artefacts, and textiles.

At a welcome reception, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, remarked, “It is a pleasure to have you here in Ghana. Our role at the GTA is to reintroduce Ghana to the world, and this partnership with Miami’s delegation is a testament to the growing global interest in what Ghana has to offer.”

In a moving address, Hon. Professor Erhabor Ighodaro, President and CEO of the Greater Miami Gardens International Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the cultural and historical ties between Africa and the African diaspora.

“We are all Africans not because we were born in Africa, but because Africa was born in us,” he declared, while also commending Ghana’s leadership in Pan-Africanism and economic transformation.

Ambassador Sam, who also serves as President of Women in Tourism Ghana and Vice President of the ECOWAS Tourism Private Sector Confederation, added, “This engagement is a strategic opportunity for Ghanaian businesses to connect with partners who are ready to invest and collaborate across multiple sectors.

“It’s about opening doors, building trust, and creating lasting impact for both sides,” she said.

The B2B session featured matchmaking meetings designed to ensure targeted and effective interactions between delegates. It is expected to unlock new opportunities for job creation, skills transfer, and sustainable development in Ghana’s tourism and agribusiness landscape.
