The Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Ms. Joanna Adamson, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Business and Financial Times (B&FT) to acquaint herself with the company’s operations.

Ms. Adamson’s visit was to afford her the opportunity to learn at first-hand B&FT’s operations and ways the two entities can work for mutual benefit.

The High Commissioner lauded the newspaper for its leading role in the dissemination of business information in the country, and also expressed her appreciation to the paper for the continuous support it has offered the Australian High Commission over the years.

Ms. Adamson, who was received by B&FT CEO Mrs. Edith Dankwa, said that due to the constant deepening of the Ghana-Australia relationship there is need for the High Commission to work more closely with its partners, such as the B&FT.

She added that while there are about 24 Australian companies currently doing business in the country’s mining sector, she’s confident the number will go up in the not-too-distant future.

Receiving the High Commissioner at her office, Mrs. Dankwa expressed her gratitude to Ms. Adamson -- saying that the paper’s doors are open to its partners.

B&FT, Mrs. Dankwa said, will continue to partner the Australian High Commission in some of its programmes as it has done in the past, and commended its government for the tremendous support it offers Ghana -- particularly in the fields of education and capacity building in communication development.
