Aviation Fuel Tanker drivers embark on sit-down strike

The Aviation Fuel Tanker Drivers Union has embarked on a sit-down strike.

The union is up-in-arms with the Oil Marketing Companies, particularly Shell, Total and GOIL, for new procedures such as calibration of the loaded trucks, which they say has increased their cost of operation.

The strike could affect air flights tonight since the aeroplanes will not have fuel to fly.

The union is however presently locked up in meeting with the tanker drivers at the Tema Oil Refinery where the tankers load the aviation fuel.

Chairman of the Union, Eric Amoako however tells XYZ BUSINESS that the union is presently talking the drivers out of the strike.
