A 32-page event magazine, “Brong-Ahafo in Focus” -- aimed at promoting business and investment opportunities with special emphasis on agro-processing and tourism in the Brong Ahafo Region, has been launched in Sunyani.
The quarterly magazine, the first of its kind since creation of the Region over 50 years ago, will also put the spotlight on other developmental issues such as education, sports, health, infrastructure, culture and heritage.
In a sideline interview with Samuel Atta Kwasi, Editor-in-Chief, Brong Ahafo in Focus, said the region abounds with diverse and untapped investment opportunities which are yelling for attention, hence introduction of the magazine.
He said: “The magazine will collaborate effectively with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) alongside other relevant bodies like the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana Tourism Authority, and MMDAs to profile and package all businesses and investment potentials in the region”.
He appealed to the various stakeholders in the region to support the cause as a medium to sell business and investment potentials. This, he noted, will be a “unique platform” for solving socio-economic problems impeding development in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Mr. Gordon Asubonteng, MCE for Dormaa Central who deputised for the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Eric Opoku, urged managers of the magazine not to lose focus of the initiative.
“You must abide and show professionalism in your endeavours to stand the test of time, broaden your scope to cover all other equally important issues to aid development.”
The first copy of the magazine was auctioned for GH¢2,000.
