Daboase (W/R), Aug. 8, GNA - The Management of Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) has presented a motor bike, stationery and office equipment worth GHc3, 000 (30 million cedis) to the Mpohor-Wassa East District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme at Daboase.
Nene Mate Kole, Managing Director of BOPP, said the donation was part of the company's social responsibility to the community. It was also in appreciation of the partnership BOPP had entered into with the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme to offer quality service to the people.
This followed the signing of a contract between BOPP and the District Health Insurance to enable the company's clinic to be a service provider.
He said the scheme faced constraints and that BOPP would help meet some of its needs especially in the area of transportation for its personnel.
Mr. Edward Tawia Amprofi, District Chief Executive, expressed gratitude to BOPP and appealed for more support as well as from organisations in the area.
Mr. Amprofi assured management of BOPP that work on Adum Benso roads would start after the rainy season. Mr. Asaah Mensah, the Scheme Manager, told the GNA that 70,275 people had registered out of which 42,370 had fully paid their premium. He said the scheme had collected 410,866,200 cedis and paid 1.1 billion cedis to service providers.
