Ajumako-Mando (C/R), June 29, GNA - The Ekumfiman Rural Bank at Ekumfi-Essuehyia in the Central Region has established a special financial package to assist teachers and other public workers in its catchment area.
The package, which would be given out as loans, is aimed at encouraging teachers and other workers who are customers to stay in the area and contribute their quota towards the promotion of education in the country, according to Mr Michael Kumi Frimpong, Supervising Manager of the Bank.
Mr Frimpong was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after launching a mobile banking outreach programme initiated by the Bank at Ajumako-Mando on Monday.
He expressed the hope that the facility would greatly help beneficiaries lay sound economic foundations to support their children's education.
Mr Joseph Kenneth Grant, an Accountant of the Bank, advised teachers and other salaried workers in the area to avail themselves of the facility in order to improve their economic situation.
Mr grant also called on farmers, artisans, transport operators and fishermen in the Ekumfi and Ajumako traditional areas to patronage the mobile banking system to enable them obtain financial support periodically to support their businesses.
