BEST Western Premier Hotel at Airport, Accra, has picked up yet another laurel, this time, has been recognized amongst Ghana’s top 100 companies.
The award winning four-star hotel placed 67 out of 100 companies and was honoured by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) at the 14th Ghana Club 100 awards ceremony held at the State Banquet Hall in Accra last Thursday.
The GIPC award comes on the heels of “Top Hotel Brand in Customer Service and Comfort” award picked by the hotel less than a month ago.
The ceremony, on the theme, ‘Impact Investments and Sustainable Economic Development,’ pooled businesses including mining firms, banks, other financial institutions and companies in Ghana’s manufacturing and hospitality sectors.
The Ghana Club100 ranking is an annual initiative by the GIPC to honour companies which have excelled in their various areas of operations under the year in review.
General Manager of the Hotel, Mr Zibrim Yamusah told the Business Finder that the multiple awards earned by the facility is proof of the commitment by management and staff to maintain the Best Western Premier brand and exude excellence at all times.
“We have maintained the standards of the brand, ensured that the facility is well furnished to precision, much to the admiration of our guests from the United States of America where the Best Western Premier brand originates,” he said.
The hotel’s management instituted and ensured staff adherence to a strong maintenance culture, a practice which has contributed in no small way to its successes.
“We are consistent in keeping our hotel spotlessly clean and making sure that service delivery is world class,” Mr Yamusah stressed.
Marketing Manager for the hotel, Mr Emmanuel Quaye said, “the GIPC award is a testament of the quality of our brand and goes further to show that our efforts are paying off.”
He disclosed that the hotel would reinforce its commitment to giving back to society.
“We will continue to assist deprived communities with the aim of touching lives and communities,” he added.
The event itself was almost marred by the excessive heat in the Banquet Hall as the central air conditioning was not functioning.
Guests were seen fanning themselves in desperation as the programme dragged slowly on.
President John Dramani Mahama who was billed to attend the event as the guest of honour failed to show up. He was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah.
Chief Executive of GIPC, Mawuena Trebarh, said the theme highlighted the Centre’s resolve to attract FDI’s that go beyond just financial returns and create benefits for the society and the environment.
“This kind of FDI has a positive impact on developing economies and is more likely to take precedence if companies place greater emphasis on social welfare, resource protection and pollution control from the outset of the rolling out of their various projects,” she said.
