Borderless Alliance in collaboration with the Ghana Shippers Authority has held a stakeholders forum on the opportunities and challenges of unlocking the ECOWAS Market.

The forum is aimed at achieving trade fluidity along the West African trade and transport corridors and also coming up with innovative strategies for countering the major bottlenecks to trade facilitation in the sub-region.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Benonita Bismarck said they are committed to reducing the cost to shippers in transiting goods across the length and breadth of the sub-region especially the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.

The Ghana President of the Borderless Alliance, Ziad Hamoui described as welcoming news the directive by the Vice President that all customs barriers be removed on the country’s corridor.

He added that it will go a long way to reduce cost of doing business on the corridor.

He disclosed that the Ghana Revenue Authority has promised to remove the $200 transit fee that was imposed on economic operators using Ghana’s corridor.
