Brisk trading on Ghanaian bourse

Accra, Jan. 30, GNA - There was brisk trading at the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) on Wednesday when 1,520,000 shares of Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Limited ((AYRTN) changed hands out of the total of 1,681,600 shares that were traded.

The GSE All-Share Index, main market indicator, inched up by 1.87 points to close trading at 6,718.62 points on the gains of five equities led by SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC). Change year to date now stands at 1.80 per cent.

On the broader market SIC gained GH=A2 0.0045 to close at GH=A2 0.3300; Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) went up by GH=A2 0.0006 at GH=A2 1.2340; Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) was better by GH=A2 0.0004 at GH=A2 1.0055; Ecobank Ghana Limited was richer by GH=A2 0.0003 at GH=A2 2.1747 while Cal Bank Limited (CAL) gained GH=A2 0.0002 to close at GH=A2 0.5057.

Market capitalisation went up to GH=A2 12,512.79 million from GH=A2 12,511.63 million on Tuesday.
