Broll Company aims to be market leader

Broll Ghana Limited, a property service company engaged in residential retail, office and industrial interests has re-affirmed its commitment to be the market leader in retail shops in the country.

Mr Moses Luri, Head of Retail Leasing of Broll Ghana, said the various retail projects earmarked for the country within the next three years is approximately 250,000 square meter of retail space, which is a huge potential for investment, employment, and revenue for government.


Mr Luri made this known after a tour with journalists to some of the properties it manages including the Junction Mall at Nungua-Barrier, West Hills Mall in Weija, World Trade Centre, Accra and the Accra Shippers House.


He said retail development continues to be an attractive investment option due to excellent returns necessitated by the increase in tenant demand for formal retail space.


“According to Real Estate market experts the rapid growth of the middle class, urbanisation and consumerism has accelerated renewed interest in retail development”, he added.


He said the commercial portfolio of Broll Ghana comprises 75,000 square meters of space with an estimated roll of circa 7,000,000 dollar, where most of these properties are situated in Accra, mainly the Ridge Ambassadorial enclave, Osu, Adabraka and North Industrial Area.

“Broll offers a wide range of commercial properties and facilities management services ranging from letting the spaces, carrying out rent reviews and lease renewals, maintaining the facilities on site, undertaking planned maintenance and using bespoke software as a management and monitoring tool to ensure property is well maintained.”


He said the Junction Mall was opened on November 27 and covers 11,000 square meters space servicing the estimated 411,212 community-based population in the catchment area.


The Mall is anchored by Shoprite, with international retailers like Mr Price, Jet, Levis, Springfield, Ashfoam, Nallem Clothing, Women’s Secret which afford shoppers to easy convenience to one-stop shopping.


Mr Luri said the West Hills Mall forms the gateway into the Greater Accra Region from Western Region with 27,500 square meter space opened on October 30, developed by Atterbury with collaboration with Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).


Mr Tony Sekyere, Head of Property Management of Broll Company said the World Trade Centre, Accra consist of an office complex and a convention and retail centre developed by SSNIT and SAS Securities.

The office complex provides 11,000 square meters of prime office space arranged over 15 floors while the convention and retail centre comprises an ultra-modern 500-seater conference facility and range of seminar rooms.


Mr Sekyere noted that the Accra Shippers House is being developed by Ghana Shippers Authority with state-of-the-art purpose facility with office block consisting of 12 storeys and retail space of 400-seater conference facility.


The Ghana Shippers Authority would be taking occupation of approximately 1,200 square meters while the remaining space would be home to blue chip companies within the logistics and marine haulage sector to create a one-stop shop for stakeholders in the industry.
