Business Associations re-schedule strike action

Members of the Joint Consultative Business Associations have suspended a strike action that was scheduled for today Wednesday March 4 against the implementation of Ghana Conformity Assessment programme(G-CAP).

A statement signed by the Associations and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said that the strike action had been re-scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2015.

"We, however wish to state that we remain resolute on our demands for the appropriate authorities to ensure the cancellation of the G-CAP and the Advanced Shipment information."

The statement apologised to members and the public for any inconvenience that might had been caused by their suspension.

The Joint Consultative Business Associations are; Ghana Chamber of Commerce, The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), Ghana Automobile Dealers Association (GADA), Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF) and the Food and Beverages Association of Ghana (FABAG).

Others are; Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana, Customs Brokers Association of Ghana, Association of Ghana Industries(AGI), Freight Forwarders Association of Ghana.
