Accra, Dec 3, GNA - The filing of annual returns and renewal of business names and partnerships at the Registrar-Generals' Department has been extended to December 31.

A statement issued on Wednesday and signed in Accra by Mrs Elizabeth Owiredu-Gyampoh; Registrar-General said the business community and individuals who had not complied with their statutory obligations should, therefore, take "this final extension of deadline to comply with these requirements".

It said the extension had been necessitated in view of the numerous representations from the business community and identifiable groups.

According to the statement, all annual return and renewal forms were to be submitted to the Registry of the Registrar-Generals Department in Accra.

It, however, warned the public that it had not mandated any person to collect renewal fees or any other fees on behalf of the Department "anywhere outside the main Office at the Ministries in Accra".

The statement expressed the hope that all concerned would take advantage of the extension to comply with their statutory obligations not later than December 31, 2003.
