Ho, July 19, GNA - The Registrar General's Department has given all business entities in Ghana up to August 31, this year to regularise their records in line with the Department's rules or have their names deleted from their books. A paid notice in the Ghanaian Times of Tuesday, July 15, this year signed by Mrs Elizabeth Owiredu-Gyampoh, Registrar General, cautioned that after that date, names of defaulting businesses could only be traced at the national archives. The notice explained that the exercise was to facilitate the establishment of modern records centre for the Department. It said the Centre would ensure the safe and effective storage of up to date data on all business entities in the country. "The purpose is to ensure easy access to data and prompt retrieval of information on Companies, Partnerships, Firms and Business Names by the government, investors, proprietors of businesses and the general public", the notice said. It cautioned that businesses, which fail to comply, would have their names struck out and other applicants would be permitted to use them.
