Traders in the central business district of Accra have expressed worry that they may not be able to cash in ahead of the Christmas season due to the disputes over the declaration of the election results.

Some traders at the Makola market and around the central business district yesterday were forced to halt business activities following clashes between some persons believed to be the supporters of the NDC and the NPP.

According to many traders, such fearful incidents together with similar once visited on them this week have had negative impacts on business activities.

Some business operatives especially those who deals in assorted foods, drinks, cloth and other Christmas paraphernalia cash in heavily around this time of the month.

Meanwhile, some traders speaking to Citi Fm in an interview observed that “because of the clashes between the two parties most people are scared, that is why we are all hoping peace prevails. Some of the clients we are expecting to visit our shops are still not coming because they fear their lives”.

The traders also noted that their hoping that peace restores in the country as soon as possible to enable them carryout their activities peacefully.
