Businesses to benefit from switch Africa green program

Mrs Leticia Nyaaba of the Environmental Protection Agency has said that Switch Africa Green will partner Businesses whose activities affect the environment to make maximum benefit from the potential pollutant of the environment that results from their production and manufacturing

She indicated that most of the excesses of production that affect the environment in diverse ways have a huge recycling potential that can generate money for businesses.

Speaking in an interview with this reporter at The National Networking Forum held at the Accra City Hotel yesterday, the Senior Programs Manager at the Environmental Protection Agency indicated that that the Switch African Green is going to work with companies whose operations have green effect on the environment.

She indicated that if the radical green approach is not adopted, the future generation will find the earth inhabitable.

She therefore called on the media to play an active role in educating people about going green and encourage companies to look at the option of recycling their waste to enable them make more gains in their business and protect the environment

According to her, even though there is so much more to be done, Ghana has made tremendous gains over the years through the SWITCH-Africa Green

At the event, over 30 Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) and Green Economy accomplishments and undertakings under the SWITCH Africa Green Project in Ghana were unveiled for all to see.

There were also additional exhibition from non-SWITCH –Africa Green funded interventions.

Switch Africa Green is a European Union funded project to support African countries in their transition to an inclusive green economy and in promoting a shift to Sustainable Consumption and Production patterns and practices.
