Businessman presents to the Tema Police

Tema, May 28, GNA - The Tema Regional Police Command on Friday received a cheque for 20 million cedis from Nana Kwasi Boampong, a businessman in support of the construction of a police barracks in the municipality.

Ten million cedis out of the amount was to be used in painting the barracks at the Tema Community Two Police station, whiles the remaining 10 million cedis was to support the construction of a Barracks at Community 11.

Presenting the cheque, Nana Boampong said he had stayed in Tema for the past 48 years and has been really impressed by the activities of the police in keeping law and order in the Municipality. He said the presentation forms part of his social responsibility and hoped it would be used effectively to help solve some of the problems faced by the police in the municipality.

The Tema Regional Police Commander, Mrs Agnes Sikanartey received the cheque and thanked Nana Boampong for the gesture and promised that it would be used profitably.

She assured that the police would also work hard to ensure that peace and order prevails in the municipality. She commended those organisations, which have supported them in kind and cash so far and said recently, Ninash Hair Company gave one million cedis, whiles GRATIS Foundation also presented 2.5 million cedis towards the project.
