CDH to go continental next year

CDH Financial Holdings (Ghana) will in the coming year expand its operations to five other African countries as part of its efforts to make the company a continental one.

The countries to experience the services of the company are Zimbabwe, Zambia, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Mr Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, Group Chief Executive Officer of CDH Financial Holdings Limited, said this during the launch of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the company in Accra .

At the event which was under the theme: “Celebrating 25 Years of God’s Goodness”, Mr Adu-Sarkodee said it was the intension of the company to expand to other areas after meeting its initial objectives.

He said the company had been quite successful over the years due to the personal sacrifice and commitment of employees and the hand of God in their operations.

Mr Adu-Sarkodee said his outfit will also expand its Corporate Social Responsibility operations by embarking on water provision and expansion projects in places like Mamfe, Kordiabe, Abiriw.

He said a multi-purpose dormitory that will accommodate 40 children for the Village of Hope Orphanage, Gomoa Fetteh, would also be constructed as part of its social responsibility commitment to the society.

Mr Adu-Sarkodee said though the company went through some challenges which began in 2004, they have been able to overcome them through hard work and guidance from God.

Bishop Charles Agyin Asare, presiding bishop of the Word Miracle Church International (WMCI), urged the company to continue looking up to God as it strives to make impact in the industry.

CDH was established in September 1987, as the first Discount House in Ghana with the mandate to help maintain liquidity and stability within the financial sector.

The group later diversified into other sectors including Stock brokerage, Insurance Asset Management and Commodities Trading and currently has total asset in excess of GH?200 million.

It also boasts of a number of specialized subsidiaries including CDH Asset Management Ltd, a licensed fund manager, Ivory Finance Company Ltd, which provides a wide range of financial services, including lending, guarantees, export financing, financial leasing and collateral management etc.

Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, Phoenix Life Assurance Company, CDH Securities and CDH Commodities Limited are all members of the CDH Group.
