THE Chartered Institute of Administration, Ghana (CIA-G) has established a branch in Kumasi to facilitate the training of students with the view of enhancing their professional competence.

The National Treasurer of CIA-G, Mr Paul Hammond, who announced this at a press conference in Kumasi, said the extension of CIA-G in Kumasi is also to promote and further the cause of high professionalism in the practice of administrators.

The CIA-G, a licensing and regulatory professional institute established and registered three years ago in the country, is affiliated to the International Professional Managers Association in the United Kingdom. It was formerly inaugurated at the School of Administration, University of Ghana and has since admitted over 500 top Chief Executives into its Post Experience Professional Qualifying programmes.

It has also registered over 300 students into its foundation, intermediate and professional stages.

He explained that the launching of the CIA-G in Kumasi has come at an opportune time because students who stay far away from Accra normally take the risk of travelling to Accra on Saturdays for their programmes.

Mr Hammond mentioned organising administration, company law, management science, financial management, elements of risks and insurance as well as research methods, competitive strategy and strategic human resource management as some of the programmes offered at the CIA-G. He urged SSS and graduates to take advantage of the institute to enrol to make it possible to take responsible positions in future.
