The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has initiated investigations into a video that has gone viral on social media involving a Nigerian English professor.
In a release signed by Ms Juliana Obeng, Deputy Superintendent of Police, the Head of Public Affairs Unit of CID and copied the Ghana News Agency said, Professor Augustine Uzoma Nwagbara has reported to the Police upon an invitation extended to him by the CID.
He was arrested and cautioned on the offence of Offensive Conduct Conducive to the Breach of Peace, the release added.
It said Professor Augustine Uzoma Nwagbara was admitted to police enquiry bail.
“The CID uses the opportunity to call on Ghanaians to remain calm and continue to enjoy the relationship between the two countries as it continues with investigations,” the statement noted.
