In the wake of proliferation of award schemes in the country, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana has called for an appreciable level of sanity among the numerous award schemes, saying it is ready to provide help to any award institute.

CIMG which has been unmatched in the marketing industry for the past 3 decades wants some form of prudence and circumspection in award organization in the country.

According to the National Vice President of CIMG, Daniel Kasser Tee, the importance of awards in the operations of businesses and the need to improve the standards cannot be overlooked.

“...Awards remain a vital instrument for re-shaping and improving organizational performance...as awards organizing bodies, the Ghanaian public requires of us to show them high levels of professionalism, independence, credibility, sound judgement...and we can’t afford to disappoint them.” He noted.

Mr. Kasser Tee was speaking at the launch of the 30th CIMG awards, held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

He noted that awards in the corporate world “remain a vital instrument for reshaping and improving organizational performance” thus the proliferation of such schemes is a matter of great concern.

Adding that, his outfit is not in any way against the proliferation of such but they are willing and ready to cooperate and provide help to any such institute.

Mr. Kaiser Tee further maintained that “award organizers need to exhibit some level of professionalism, independence, credibility and judgment to gain the trust of potential winners and the general public.”

New categories

As part of CIMG’s efforts to maintain its benchmark for accessing the performance of corporate bodies and individuals in the corporate world, the institute has introduced three more award categories.

This is to ensure wider coverage of the award scheme, as well as to achieve all fairness simplicity.

“This year, we have introduced three more awards due to the relevance of those sectors, they are; Real Estate Company of the year, Private Health Facility of the year and Postal and Courier Service of the Year.” Mr. Kasser Tee announced.
