Mr Tom Budu, Akyemansa District Chief Executive, has appealed to the people to do their best to maintain public and social properties to ensure long term use.
He made the appeal, during a tape cutting ceremony to inaugurate three mechanised pipe borne water at Kotokuom provided by the Community Livelihood Support Organisation Ghana (COLISO), a non-governmental organisation in collaboration wrth, Flemish government, FOS Belgium, TMVW Water Company, City of Antwerp, and Ghana Council in Belgium.
Mr Budu said a seven- member committee, has been set up by the town to supervise and manage the project, while the Community Water and Sanitation Agency would take the members through training to manage the facilities.
Oberempong Boakye Akoto II, Chief of Akyem Kotokuom thanked COLISO, Ghana and its partners for the water project.
Mr Kwaku Boama Acheampong President of Ghanaian Community in Belgium, and a Patron of the organisation, Mr Kwaku Isaac Asare, Chairman and Mr Yaw Asante Ayimadu, Executive Director of COLISO Ghana, gave the assurance that they would provide the community with more development assistance by working as a team.
Dr Edward Kwasi Ampofo, Project Officer announced a scholarship award of GH? 100 for the best junior high school graduate and GH?200 for the best senior high school graduate who hails from Kotokuom.
