Chinese Ambassador Lauds Accra's Business Environment

Mr Lu Yongshou, the Chinese Ambassador, has lauded Ghana for creating a congenial environment for the promotion of business and attraction of investors.

Speaking at the official opening of "Tsing Tao (Chinese) Restaurant", at Tema Community Six, Mr Lu said Ghana has potential in the tourist trade which, if well managed could generate enough foreign exchange. "It is for this reason that Chinese are investing in various sectors of the economy, including the running of several restaurants in the country because they play a complementary role in the tourism industry," he said.

Ambassador Lu noted that Chinese are in the forefront of foreign business partnerships in Ghana. Currently they are running 30 restaurants within the Accra-Tema area alone.

He called on Chinese businesses in the country to exhibit a high level of professionalism and conform to standards that satisfy both local and foreign clients.

Mr Emmanuel Victor Hagan, Director of Research and Statistics of the Ghana Tourist Board said Ghana is encouraging private sector participation in tourism in other to compete with other countries to achieve quality results.

He urged management of restaurants to aim at quality tourism through fruitful human relations with their customers and excellent service delivery so as to place Ghana high on the international market.
