The Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board ( COCOBOD) Hon Joseph Boahen Aidoo has extolled Cocoa as a ‘Super Food’ and called on Ghanaians to consume it in all forms regularly.
‘Never in the history of the world has nature blessed a single crop with several nutrients that promote good health and longevity,’ he said.
According to the COCOBOD boss, cocoa has a very large amount of polyphenols and antioxidant properties which help in ensuring the total well-being of the body.
He further stated that regular consumption of cocoa is as good as a regular intake of water and urged Ghanaians to consume more cocoa for a healthier life.
Hon Aidoo made these observations a staff variety organized for staff of Divisions and Subsidiaries of COCOBOD. The show dubbed, ‘Cocoa Time With Staff’, the first of its kind was held at the Rooftop of Cocoa House, Accra to fraternize with staff and share fond experiences.
The Variety Show brought together some Ghanaian artistes such as Ghana’s Hiplife Legend, Obrafour, who thrilled and kept the staff of the Board on their feet for hours dancing to some of his unexpired genres.
It was very interesting to see staff, both young and old, join Obrafour to sing and dance to the popular ‘Yaanom montie’, ‘Kasseiebo’ and many more at the show.
The two-hour programme witnessed a splendid moment when the Chief Executive and his three Deputies joined the staff to share, break and eat chocolates and other products made from cocoa together in a lovely and friendly atmosphere.
Perhaps the most amusing moment was when it was the turn for one of Ghana’s finest comedian OB Amponsah to interact with staff through his didactic comic reliefs.
The staff were de-stressed with several scenarios of hilarious comical illustrations ranging from current happenings in the world of business, social life and technology.
The staff variety show was organized as part of activities marking the 2020 National Chocolate Day on 14th February being held on the theme – My Chocolate Experience My Holistic Well- Being.
