Cocoa seedlings not for sale – Mahama warns

President John Mahama says 50 million cocoa seedlings are to be planted and four thousand people have been employed by CocoBoard across the country to distribute the seedlings to farmers.

He reiterated that the seedlings are not for sale therefore farmers must report anyone who sells or attempts to sell the seedlings to them.

President Mahama said this at a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Goaso and Tepa Junction roads in Brong Ahafo.

President Mahama also announced massive road projects under construction in the Region.

These include Gambia Number two roads, Dormaa Ahenkro and Dadieso Aba.

He said the second batch of road contracts will be awarded by the end of the month.

President Mahama will Tuesday cut the sod for the beginning of work on some cocoa road in Dormaa.

He will also address a forum at Sunyani.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Goaso, Nana Kwesi Bosomprah has appealed to President Mahama to extend the construction of the main Goaso road to include access roads.

He also asked him to terminate the contracts of non performing contractors.
