Coconut Grove Beach Resort to mark 25th milestone

The Coconut Grove Beach Resort at Elmina in the Central Region is to mark its silver anniversary next year, with a renewed mandate to marshal and lead a transformational agenda of the Ghanaian Hospitality Industry.

“The hospitality chain; hotels, car hiring operators, travel and tour agencies, tourist site operators, artefact dealers and custodians of our traditional norms and culture must work together to project the image of the country through the hospitality sector.

“As an indigenous Hotel, operating for the past 25 years, we have the capacity to lead such a venture, which falls in line with Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom and Mrs Yvonne Nduom’s vision for setting this hotel on December 14, 1994,” Mr Victor Opoku Minta, General Manager Coconut Grove Beach Resort, stated.

Mr Opoku Minta told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that for the past 24 years, the resort had provided rest and relaxation for tourists as well as served as a sanctuary for both local and international tourists.

“It’s now time to link the forces of labour, and stakeholders to build a stronger network for the benefit of the clients, all stakeholders in the hospitality sector shares the same clients,” Mr Opoku Minta noted.

“We must, therefore, work to ensure that anyone who patronises these services benefit to the fullest, we must offer to intertwine value for money services, which has been the hallmark of the Coconut Beach Resort,” he said.

Ms Anna Arthur-Amissah, Front Office Manager, Coconut Grove Beach Resort explained to the GNA, that, aside from the provision of accommodation facilities, the resort has an 18 hole international standard golf course, which has hosted many an invitational golf tournament.

“Visitors to the Beach Resort can tour the animal sanctuary, which features crocodiles, parrots, peacocks, geese, quails, tortoise, amongst others and a fish pond where guests can fish for their catch to be cooked in the kitchen for their dinner.

“There is an organic vegetable garden and poultry farm, where guests can take a tour to select products and to have cooked to their specification.

“We promote the indigenous Ghanaian cuisine with the use of Ghanaian ingredients and feature these dishes on our menu to expose our guests to the healthy, tasty and rich cuisine of our country, Ghana. This delectable cuisine is served with a twist of international service standards,” Arthur-Amissah stated.

Ms Arthur-Amissah said the Beach Resort also assist clients who wish to swim in the ocean, adding “we have more than 13 horses in our stables, which are at the disposal of customers to take a horseback ride over a 50-acre space.

“Our stables are made up of Nigerian and Arabian thoroughbreds, which are raced occasionally at the Accra Turf club and which have won trophies”.

Ms Arthur-Amissah revealed that Coconut Grove Beach Resort seeks to redefine a new pathway for the Ghanaian hospitality industry with a blend of traditional and exotic architecture, serene ambience, environmentally friendly beach and all round shade under the natural tropical Africa Coconut trees.
