Tema, April 19, GNA - Mr Dan Asomaning, National President of the Customs Brokers Association of Ghana (CUBAG), has appealed to traditional leaders to ensure that peace prevailed in their traditional areas to promote development.

Mr Asomaning said it would be difficult for companies to meet their targets when traditional conflicts persist in their localities. He made the call on Friday at Tema when his outfit donated 30 crates of assorted drinks, six cartons of schnapps and GH¢1,000 to the Tema Traditional Council (TTC) towards the 2008 Kpelezoo Festival.

He said even though the contributions of traditional leaders were seen to be little by some organizations, its importance to the companies could not be neglected.

He said the association recognized the peaceful atmosphere it operated in since its formation in 1992 and therefore donated the items in appreciation and solidarity to the TTC.

Nii Adjei Kwame, Tema Akwashontse who received the items, thanked the association and called on others to emulate the gesture. Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse, said residents of the traditional area should prepare towards the golden jubilee celebration of the Tema people next year.
