Comsys Ghana Limited is “ready for the future,” Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Lamptey has declared, as the indigenous technology company marked its 25th anniversary with high praise from the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

The milestone celebration, held in Accra on November 28, 2025, highlighted Comsys’ evolution from a modest ICT provider into a national digital powerhouse.

The Ga Mantse, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Justice Julia Naa-Yarley Adjei-Amoah, Chief of Staff at the Office of the Ga Mantse, commended Comsys for its outstanding contributions to Ghana’s technological growth.

He described the company as a “beacon of Ghanaian potential and integrity,” noting that its resilience, innovation and commitment to national development have significantly shaped the digital landscape in the Greater Accra Region and beyond.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II lauded Comsys for exemplifying the anniversary theme, “Beyond Connectivity,” through its delivery of trusted technology solutions, pioneering fibre-optic services and the maintenance of a state-of-the-art VSAT infrastructure serving Ghana and the sub-region.

The King added that the company’s values of trust, integrity and respect for local culture align closely with the aspirations of the Ga State and the Ghana Traditional Council.

“Trust is not given; it is earned. For 25 years, Comsys has kept its word to clients, workers and the nation,” he remarked.

He further praised the company for creating jobs for hundreds of Ghanaians and for its role in transforming the telecommunications sector.

The King assured the organisation of the Ga Traditional Council’s continuous support through advocacy, partnerships and community goodwill.

Encouraging Comsys to remain steadfast in innovation and youth development, he urged the company’s leadership to ensure that their progress uplifts others within the digital ecosystem.

“Let your success be one that others can also grow from,” he noted.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II also called on international partners to view their work with Comsys as a direct investment in Ghana’s broader development agenda, adding, “When you work with Comsys, you are not only working with a company; you are investing in the promise of Ghana.”

He concluded with a message of goodwill, “Long live Comsys Ghana Limited. Long live the telecommunications industry. Long live the Greater Accra Region. Long live Ghana.”

Delivering his keynote address, Comsys CEO Jonathan Lamptey traced the company’s journey from a small ICT solutions provider in 2000 to a leading national backbone for enterprise connectivity.

He recounted how the company transitioned from supplying computers and communication hardware to addressing a major challenge in Ghana’s financial sector unequal access to reliable connectivity.

This shift, he explained, drove Comsys to build stable, nationwide network infrastructure that businesses could depend on “like the oxygen you breathe.”

Today, Comsys boasts more than 80 MPLS points of presence across all 16 regions, a national fibre-optic backbone and KU/KA band satellite services that extend connectivity to remote areas.

The company has also earned 13 consecutive industry awards for enterprise solutions and ISP excellence.

Despite operational challenges, including frequent fibre cuts and high maintenance costs, Lamptey said Comsys has remained resilient and continues to contribute significantly to Ghana’s digital transformation.

He highlighted the company’s development of the country’s first open-access network and a highly skilled workforce 65% of whom are engineers trained in advanced technologies.

Looking to the next chapter, Lamptey announced a strategic shift “beyond connectivity,” positioning Comsys to power Ghana’s AI, cloud and digital economy ambitions.

He referenced the operation of the Porto DC Tier 3 data centre, collaboration on a Tier 4 facility and hosting of a global low-earth-orbit satellite portal that places Ghana as a growing digital gateway for Africa.

“Our future is about transformation and acceleration,” he stated, adding that Comsys is focused on enabling intelligent, automated and seamless digital infrastructure.

He expressed gratitude to customers, partners, staff and the board for their unwavering support over the past 25 years, concluding with confidence, “Comsys is ready for the future.”

Comsys marks 25 years of trust and innovation as ISO-certified tech leader

In the story of modern Ghana, a digital thread now weaves through the nation’s economic and social fabric.

It is a story of transformation, of a country leaping from the foundational copper cables of the past to the boundless potential of the cloud.

And for a quarter of a century, running parallel to this national narrative, has been the quiet, steady hum of Comsys Ghana Ltd. What began as a pioneer has matured into a pillar; what started with connectivity has evolved into a legacy of trust.

This 25-year journey is not merely a timeline of technological upgrades, but a receipt to a founding promise: to empower Ghanaian businesses with resilient, reliable, and forward-looking solutions.

It’s a promise that was evident from the beginning when Comsys pioneered Ghana’s first Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, a move that fundamentally changed how businesses interconnected their branches, ensuring data moved not just quickly, but intelligently and securely across the nation.

That pioneering spirit has never dimmed; it has only evolved. Today, Comsys stands as a full-service ICT partner, its story etched into the very infrastructure of the country.

Its self-owned nationwide fibre, Microwave, and VSAT networks form a digital nervous system that powers enterprises from Accra to the most remote regions. This is not leased capacity; this is built capability.

It is a network borne of the understanding that true reliability comes from control, from owning the infrastructure that drives the dedicated capacities businesses rely on to scale and compete.

This commitment to excellence is codified in an impressive trifecta of international certifications: ISO 9001 for Quality Management, ISO/IEC 20000-1 for IT Service Management, and the crucial ISO/IEC 27001 for Information Security Management.

In an age of digital threats, trust is the most valuable currency, and Comsys has built its vault with unwavering diligence.

The impact of this work is reflected in the dazzling growth of Ghana’s digital sector, which has averaged an outstanding 19% annual growth between 2014 and 2020. As the Ghanaian government cemented digitization as a core policy objective, Comsys emerged not just as a participant, but as a key driver of the national agenda.

The company positioned itself as the engine room of this transformation, powering the backend connectivity needs that allow the business community to thrive.

While end-users enjoy seamless digital experiences, it is often the robust, unseen networks built by Comsys that make the whirlwind of modern business possible.

As Comsys Ghana Limited stands at this pinnacle, celebrating 25 years of immense contribution, its gaze is fixed firmly on the future.

The vision is clear: to accelerate national growth by expanding digital access, strengthening critical infrastructure, and empowering businesses to scale without limits. The journey from a connectivity provider to a transformation partner is complete.

The next chapter is about building a digital future for Ghana that is inclusive, secure, and boundless.

For a quarter of a century, Comsys has been building trust; now, it is leveraging that trust to orchestrate a transformation that will resonate for decades to come.
