Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana, Mr. Duncan Amoah says most of the contaminated fuel that was lifted out of the Accra Plains Depot (APD) last week which amounts to 471,000 litres have been released onto the market.

Mr. Amoah made the statement in an interview with Bismark Brown, host of “Ghana Nie” on Atinka TV Wednesday. He indicated that if Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) knew what awaits them, they would be more thoughtful and stop selling such products to consumers.

He also mentioned that consumers who have been affected by the contaminated fuel must sue BOST for damages.

“BOST should admit selling 5million contaminated fuel to a company with no assets, track record and storage to keep the fuel, “he indicated.

Mr. Amoah specified that the Ministry of Energy has set a committee to investigate the matter and his department will also partake in it to ensure that they get to know consumers who have purchased contaminated fuel

He pointed out that investigations must be carried out to know who is behind “ Movenpina,” the company that bought the contaminated fuel.
