The government of Ghana must be conservative in its spending during this period of the COVID-19 outbreak, Dr. Lord Mensah, an economist and a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, has said.
He called on the government to cut down on its expenditure and also ensure that the little financial resources are directed only to the critical areas of the economy.
Areas that do not require immediate funding should be cut out, he suggested.
“We have ourselves in a situation which we must be conservative,” Dr Mensah told Citi news.
He added: “The prudent way to manage this country is to cut down on expenditure,”
