Corporate Social Responsibility Magazine launched

Accra, Sept. 14, GNA - Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) Watch, a magazine designed to encourage partnership between corporate organisations, governments,civil society and individuals to reach their varying needs, has been launched in Accra. Launching the magazine on Tuesday Mr Joseph Emmanuel Allotey-Pappoe, Public Relations and Communications Management Consultant, said the quarterly magazine, which would be distributed freely, would share best practices, highlight the cautions and stress the benefits in CSR among stakeholders.

He said CSR had not been given its proper focus by some organisations though it was an important function that defines an organisation, separating the responsible and committed corporate citizens from the uncommitted irresponsible ones.

The magazine would feature extensively corporate social responsibility practices by responsible corporate institutions whose aim among others was to leave behind for future generations, 93a legacy of a healthy and sustainable environment".

The maiden edition, which focused on the Forestry Commission of Ghana and its work,would also have The Professor's Column", which would maintain as permanent features and provide readers with some understanding on CSR through the CSR Concept.

Mrs Vicky Wireko-Andoh, a Public Relations Consultant who is the Editor of the magazine, said change had become inevitable and currently the rapid changes had forced businesses to adapt to the times. "As we share the experiences and stress the benefits in CSR, we believe that the CSR will point businesses to the direction where they would stick to the CSR value curve which has moved struggling businesses to climb heights presenting to them competitive differentiation with access to new markets," she added.
