Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Koans Building Solutions, Kofi Anokye has said though the government have done well in managing the economy, the cost of doing business in Ghana is still high.

According to him, the NPP government won the 2016 general elections because of the confidence the people of Ghana had in them to bring the country back on track in terms of economic progression.

“This is one area the erstwhile Mahama government failed and paid the penalty for it in the elections,” he said.

In assessing the first year performance of the Nana Akufo-Addo administration the Koans Building Solutions CEO scored the government’s ability to manage the economy 60%; adding that as a businessman, he still feels the power of the dollar over the cedi.

According to him, the selling price of the dollar against the cedi is around 22% thus 4.7 Ghana cedis to a dollar which affects the cost of doing business in the country.

“Though there are positives, it has not been felt by the business community and the business community are so important when talking about macroeconomic issues,” he said.
