Court issues warrant for business executives

Sekondi, May 13, GNA- A Sekondi Magistrate's Court on Thursday issued bench warrants for the arrest of 11 business executives operating in Takoradi for failing to appear before court.

Four others who appeared were granted a One million cedis self-recognisance bail each and asked to re-appear before the court on June 14.

Their pleas were not taken. They are, Nichcole Global Ventures, Dandi Enterprise, Rural Friends and Almighty fashions centre, Star Photo Laboratory, Rantra Spares Limited, Noshpee Ent., Joyce Ent. Kwadudu Ent. The rest are Maame Bea's Kitchen, Lydia Cudjoe, Ben Brothers Ltd., Embassy Hotel, Rabs Electrical Works and Haridan Ent.

Prosecuting, Mr. Anthony Hayford, the Shama Ahanta East metropolitan Environmental health Officer said the proprietors of the institutions, have since 2000, refused to register or allow the assemblies agents and contractors to convey waste from their business premises. He said the assembly had undertaken extensive education on the issue on local radio stations and through mobile vans but all the organisations and their owners have persistently refused.
