Brij Technologies Inc. has officially unveiled its cutting-edge digital platform, BrijX, designed to revolutionise business-to-business (B2B) currency swaps between Ghana and Nigeria for citizens, small and medium-sized businesses.

The platform, set to go live in about two weeks, aims to streamline cross-border transactions between the two countries by providing businesses with a seamless, efficient, and cost-effective solution for exchanging currencies.

Speaking at the launch event on November 19, 2024 in Accra, Chief Operating Officer of Brij Technologies Inc., Beatrice Bota, said her outfit is leveraging advanced technology to address common pain points in international trade, such as high transaction costs, slow processing times, and lack of transparency.

“The platform is tailored for businesses seeking to optimise their currency exchange processes, enabling them to save time and resources while enhancing financial operations,” she said.

“We are thrilled to introduce BrijX, a game-changing solution that empowers businesses to navigate the complexities of cross-border currency transactions with ease and confidence. This platform reflects our commitment to driving innovation in financial technology and creating opportunities for businesses worldwide,” Bota added.

Vice Chair of Brij Technologies Inc., K. Riva Levinson, mentioned that the BrijX platform will set new standards in B2B currency exchange, offering unparalleled efficiency and scalability.

She added that the platform will also eliminate third-party transactions to provide endless business opportunities.

“The BrijX platform is expected to go live in about two weeks, and for the first time, users will be able to communicate between Mobile Money platforms across borders. The simplicity of the mechanism allows for currency swaps between Nigeria and Ghana without forex intermediation,” Riva Levinson told GhanaWeb Business.

The Vice Chair further disclosed that it is in the process of its final integration with G-Money and MTN Mobile Money for transactions to take place.

Meanwhile, Augustine Blay, Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President, praised the BrijX platform as a game-changer for Ghana's efforts toward mobile money interoperability and seamless digital transactions.

He stated that the government will continue to make significant investments in the payment ecosystem to drive growth and improve economic fortunes.
