The Association of Customs House Agents Ghana has indicated that it aims at redeeming the integrity of the freight forwarding industry and restoring confidence in the general trading public and importers and exporters in particular.
According to acting president of the Association, Mr. Yaw Kyei, the Association will work towards enhancing the quality of services rendered by customs house agents in the country by training its members and staff on best practices.
This he explains will go a long way to ensure that services rendered are world class and amounts to standard practice as pertains in the developed world.
The vision of the Association he explained is to be the Authority in the freight forwarding industry in Ghana, achieving local, regional and international recognition.
‘’Our mission is to lead strategic initiatives that would ensure the setting and maintenance of high standards, integrity and public confidence’’ he pointed out.
Speaking exclusively in an interview with the New M&TD, Mr. Kyei opined that the association will also focus on dissemination of government policies and programmes particularly among its members and then to the larger populace.
He noted that membership of the Association of Customs House Agents Ghana cuts across the length and breadth of the country with strong presence in Tema, Takoradi and Kotoka International Airport (KIA), which are the prime operational areas.
He entreated players in the industry including importers and exporters who want to join the revolution to inject sanity, integrity and confidence in the customs house agency business in Ghana to join the Association by registering as members.
