THE DEPARTMENT of National Lotteries (DNL) has introduced the 5/39 Fortune lotto game at post offices in the Greater Accra Region.
This is to offer its numerous customers the opportunity to stake their winning numbers as they perform their postal activities.
So far the lottery is available at all post offices in the region.
Mr. Joseph Atta-Woode, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Simnet Ghana Ltd., disclosed this at the weekend after an induction course for agents of DNL 5/39 Fortune in Accra.
The training was aimed at sharpening the skills of the agents to enable them offer quality and efficient services to their customers.
Atta-Woode said the introduction of the lottery at the post offices was in response to demand by customers on the DNL to make the 5/39 Fortune coupons available and easy to get at public places in the cities.
He disclosed that DNL will soon extend this service to post offices throughout the country in addition to Mobile Shops, Shell Filling Stations, Super Markets and Lotto Kiosks that are already selling the coupons.
On prize payments, Atta-Woode said Simnet has honoured its payment to its customers with genuine tickets both on the On-Line and Off-Line coupons.
He said the bulk of its prize payments have gone to winners with four and three winning numbers who are paid cash prizes ranging from ?75 million to ?30,000.
Atta-Woode said payment for this category alone constitute about 55 per cent of a total of ?4.4 billion paid as cash prizes to winners of 5/39 Fortunes since June last year.
Atta-Woode asked the agents to render good services to their customers and explain the numerous benefits of the perms 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 which give them brighter chances of winning bigger prizes.
