The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has warned vehicle owners in the Kumasi Metropolis not to deal with middle men, otherwise referred to as ‘Goro Boys’, in the on-going mad rush to acquire 2014 number plates.

Mr. Jacob Abegyah, Ashanti Regional Manager of the Driver Vehicle and Licencing Authority (DVLA), warned that “You don’t deal with anybody, we have tags.”

The rush for vehicle registration is attributable to people who acquire vehicles in the latter part of each ensuing year and wait till the beginning of the New Year to register the vehicles in the hope to obtain the latest licence numbers.
